I'm excited to participate in this year's "Show us your life". I just recently graduated from college and got my first "Real" job and new apartment! I have the nicest landlord in the world, he allowed me to paint and decorate anyway I would like. I live in a wonderful 1940s apartment in the cutest neighborhood in East Tennessee. So here is my living room, let me know what you think!

The arrangement above the couch, I got a few things from Hobby Lobby and a few others at some antique stores.

This chair is my favorite find at an antique store, it was only a $100, and to make it a better find, about a week later I saw it in a Pottery Barn catalog for almost $600!

I love the huge window, but it was tricky to find a curtain rod that long, so I just put up one on each side and then used twin flat sheets as curtains!

I love monograms, so I looked and looked for some letters, but could never find any I loved. So I made some myself. I bought the letters from Hobby Lobby and then cover them with scrapbook paper and cut off the extra.
Looks great :)
ReplyDeleteFound your blog from Kelly's Korner.. I'm working on decorating my apartment and am always looking for ideas - your living room looks great!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe monogram is adorable! Don't you love old apartments? They have such character :)
ReplyDeleteFound your blog though Kelly's Korner. I LOVE that your landlord let you paint! It was so hard to make my old apartments look warm and like "home" because of the white walls! I LOVE LOVE LOVE those keys on your wall. Did they come from Hobby Lobby?
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Kelly's Korner. I love the keys on the wall!
