Snow, Snow and More Snow

I'm from Florida, but have seen snow before, but never this much. East Tennessee has had a ton of snow this Winter.  We had our first snow of the season in early December and we've had probably four good snows since. School has been canceled a half a dozen times already and we're suppose to get more snow in a few days.

Every time I look at snow I can't help, but to think about this Bible verse ""Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool" Isaiah 1:18

Here are a few photo of the beautiful snow.
This is one of the restaurants at the resort I work at, The Barn.

A snow dragon some neighborhood kids made, pretty awesome!

All of these are from my iPhone so the quality isn't so great

Show Us Your Singles

This post is apart of Kelly's Korner Show us your Singles,
I thought I would give this a shot! Who knows what could happen...

I'm a 23 year old Florida State graduate with a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management. I live in an adorable small east Tennessee town and work at a resort called Blackberry Farm. I'm a middle child, with an older brother and a younger sister. I love decorating, photography, being crafty, God and of course Florida State sports.

Just leave a comment and I'll get back to you...

An East Tennessee Christmas

I'm finally getting around to blogging about Christmas, only a month later...Well this year I was the hostess for our family's Christmas! Five people in a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment made for an interesting week, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It was a perfect white Christmas!

Show us your life: Master Bedroom

This is my master bedroom, its a great size even with a queen size bed in it. The colors on the walls were from the previous tenant, but they worked well with my decor so I kept them. Three of the walls are a light sea foam green color and the other is a little bit darker. You can tell with the pictures.  Its still a work in progress, so any ideas would be awesome!

This is the view as you walk in through the hallway.

I found this bed at a used furniture store a few years ago, and absolutely love it! The bedspread is Vera Wang from Kohl's, it was retailed for over $350, but I got it for only $50!

This is the view from the opposite corner of the room. That is the closet to the left of the dresser.I got the side tables at IKEA, the lamp at Old Time Pottery, the curtains from Bed, Bath and Beyond.

This is another one of my refurbished pieces, I found the chest of drawers on Craigslist. It was a light shade of Oak and terrible! ha! So I repainted it black and found new drawer knobs.

This is about the only thing I have hanging on the walls, I found it at Hobby Lobby.

This is the artwork that I'm going to hang opposite of the bed, I made it this week.  You just decoupage book pages onto a canvas and then add a simple design at the bottom.

Show us your life: Living Room

I'm excited to participate in this year's "Show us your life". I just recently graduated from college and got my first "Real" job and new apartment!  I have the nicest landlord in the world, he allowed me to paint and decorate anyway I would like.  I live in a wonderful 1940s apartment in the cutest neighborhood in East Tennessee. So here is my living room, let me know what you think!

As you walk in the front door.

This is from the opposite corner

The arrangement above the couch, I got a few things from Hobby Lobby and a few others at some antique stores.

Another view of the couch and side tables

This chair is my favorite find at an antique store, it was only a $100, and to make it a better find, about a week later I saw it in a Pottery Barn catalog for almost $600!

 View from the couch

 My office corner

View from the dining room into the living room.
I love the huge window, but it was tricky to find a curtain rod that long, so I just put up one on each side and then used twin flat sheets as curtains!

Another view from the dining room

My office area on the right and then the dining room on the left

I love monograms, so I looked and looked for some letters, but could never find any I loved. So I made some myself. I bought the letters from Hobby Lobby and then cover them with scrapbook paper and cut off the extra.
